President Obam's First 100 Days

On a personal note President Obama has inherited the worst of situations in every area that this nation could have.At least he is recognizing the worst Recession since the Great Depression and taking action. I would like to know what happened to the working class tax cut in our paychecks. Seems after it passed the House and went to the Senate it got cut. I will say now, that yes there are to many areas of this bill that should not be in this Recovery effort. I thank the Republicans for bringing this out. With nominations of people with questionable backgrounds in this area,I will be also one who wonders what is up. I will also be one to support our President in his efforts and to give his policy's time to work.To this I will have to mention Obama's other promises. In President Clinton's first 100 days he instituted the "Don't Ask,Don't Tell Policy with in the government and Military. A bold step during the times. A start of what brought about the Wrath of the conservatives against the Clinton's that endures to this day. I know,I as a Gay man who lived through those days. I thank President Bill Clinton and Hillary for the work and vision. The first administration to bring these issues of discrimination to the fore front. Now we have a new leader and new times. Its time to overturn even this type of discrimination as promised and also pass the Matthew Shepard Act as promised. To be equal in every way. I hope that President Obama will be as bold and live up to HIS promises.

Let's see?

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton first trip?

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has settled on China as an important stop on her first trip abroad in her new job and aides told me that climate and energy will be high on the agenda. (Japan will be the first stop on the Asian trip, which is planned for later this month.)The visit to China meshes with early signals sent recently by President Obama’s nascent energy and climate team about the importance of working with the industrializing giant on these entwined issues.
Todd Stern, the newly created special envoy on climate change for the United States, will be with Mrs. Clinton in China. In an e-mail message, he said a top goal is to end the endless sparring between the two giant sources of greenhouse gases over who needs to do what first. “Secretary Clinton is keenly aware that the United States — as the largest historic emitter of greenhouse gases — and China — as the largest emitter going forward — need to develop a strong, constructive partnership to build the kind of clean energy economies that will allow us to put the brakes on global climate change,” Mr. Stern said. “We need to put finger-pointing aside and focus on how our two leading nations can work together productively to solve the problem.”

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is clearly itching to hit the road. But to where? “We’ll let you know as soon as we get it organized,” she told reporters earlier this week. “I’m looking forward to it.”
